Andrew Thompson

Andrew Thompson, Principal, joined Development Guild in 2006 after sixteen years in a variety of nonprofit environments ranging from small to very complex organizations. Throughout his career Andy has been involved with creating strategic plans for fundraising, securing transformational gifts, preparing for campaigns, and implementing programs to acquire donors and increase participation rates. Andy has extensive experience working with volunteers and board members and brings to his consulting work a keen understanding of the integration of all functions within an organization in achieving the highest levels of philanthropic support. At Development Guild/DDI, Andy represents the firm in its core areas including fundraising counsel and executive search.  Andy's recent clients include Rhode Island School of Design, where he served as the Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement; Mt. Sinai Medical Center; Princeton University; Wheaton College; The Boston Architectural College; Dexter and Southfield Schools; and the USS Constitution Museum.

Andy's experience prior to joining the firm includes independent schools, social services, higher education, and healthcare. He has served in development leadership roles at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston College, Brown University, the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, and West Nottingham Academy in Maryland.  Andy has a B.A. in English from Ohio Wesleyan University.
