John Haederle, MPA
John Haederle, Senior Consultant, joined Development Guild/DDI with extensive consulting experience in fundraising and planning. Each of Development Guild/DDI's core services – planning, fundraising, and search – are reflected in John's client base. Current and recent clients include Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA, The Boston Consortium for Higher Education, Camphill Village USA, Mass Insight Education and Research Institute, YMCA Cape Cod, which just surpassed their $8.5M campaign goal, and Squamscott Community Commons, an innovative multi-tenant non profit community center.
Prior to Development Guild/DDI, John was a founding partner and Chief Financial Officer of the BHC Consulting Group, LLC, a New England-based management consulting firm specializing in the non profit sector. While at BHC, John provided campaign counsel and planning services for a diverse range of clients. Earlier, he joined the U.S. EPA's New England regional office, where he served as Director of International Programs, overseeing capacity building efforts in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Indonesia. He was also a co-founder of Citizens International, a business venture of the Boston-based Citizens Energy Corporation. As Vice President at Citizens, John designed and executed international marketing, fundraising and business development strategies with private sector and charitable foundation partners to promote programs in sustainable development, health, literacy, and job creation in West Africa. A licensed landscape architect, John spent his early career working for major design firms in Boston and Cambridge.
A member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), John serves as President of the Harvard Kennedy School New England Alumni Association, and serves on the boards of the Natural Resources Trust of Easton and Listening to Parents.
John holds a B.L.A. from Syracuse University, a B.S. from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse, and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
