The Boston Architectural College
The Boston Architectural College (the BAC) announces Tracey Thompson as its new Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Tracey brings to the position more than seventeen years of experience in senior fundraising and management positions in the non-profit sector, solid leadership skills, and a sound understanding of the BAC's philanthropic community. At the BAC, Tracey will provide overall strategic guidance for the college's advancement operation with specific responsibilities for increasing support from individuals for short- and long-term fundraising priorities. She will also work closely with the President, Board of Trustees, and senior staff to create and sustain a culture of philanthropy from all constituents.
The BAC was founded as an educational club for architects in the 1880s and now provides accredited professional education in diverse disciplines. It has maintained close ties to the professional design community throughout its history and is committed to providing excellence in design education grounded in practice and accessible to diverse communities.
Bridgewater State College
Alice Tobin Zaff joined Bridgewater State College as the new Assistant Vice President of Leadership Gifts where she works with the Board, faculty, administrators, and colleagues in the Advancement Division to increase gifts at the five-, six-, and seven-figure levels. Alice has a demonstrated breadth of fundraising experience including capital campaign, principal and major gifts, planned giving and stewardship work at leading educational and medical institutions. For the past 9 years, Alice has served as the Director of Principal Gifts at Wheaton College .

Buffalo State College
Buffalo State College welcomes Susanne Bair its new Vice President for Institutional Advancement. Buffalo State College is the largest comprehensive college in the SUNY system with over 11,000 students and more than 135 undergraduate and 63 graduate programs in the arts, sciences, professions and education.
Susanne will partner with the College's President, Dr. Muriel Howard, volunteer leadership, and staff to identify new fundraising opportunities for Buffalo State as the College begins development of its next strategic plan. Susanne comes to Buffalo State after leading successful fundraising departments at Indiana University and Fletcher Allen Healthcare of Vermont.

Arlene Snyder joins Boston Women's Fund in the senior position of Director of Philanthropy. Arlene will oversee all aspects of the fundraising program, with particular attention paid to expanding the major gift program.
Children’s Hospital Trust, Boston
Children's Hospital Trust, Boston welcomes Ethridge King as its new Director of Development Services.
Children's Hospital Boston is a leading pediatric medical center in the country and is the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. In 1998, Children's Hospital Trust was founded as part of expanded efforts to promote philanthropic investment for the benefit of the hospital. The Trust currently employs more than 100 development professionals, and raised $95 million in FY ‘07.
As Director of Development Services, Ethridge King will be responsible for overseeing the development services department of The Trust and managing a team of ten.
Most recently, Ethridge served as Director of Development Operations in the Advancement and Planning Office at Harvard University 's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies. Prior to that, he was Associate Director in the Gifts Accounting and Alumni Records Office at Boston University's Department of Development and Alumni Relations.
Children's Hospital Trust, Boston
Children's Hospital Trust (CHT) announces Catherine Dimechkie as Foundation Relations Officer. Children's Hospital Boston is a leading pediatric medical center consistently ranked among the top pediatric hospitals in the country. Under the “Transformation 2010” plan, the Trust's fundraising effort is focused on six visionary interdisciplinary initiatives that will help transform medical care: genomics, stem cell, neuroscience, fetal health, angiogenesis, and cognitive development.
Catherine will work with the CHT foundations team to maximize foundation support and increase the current level of grant success. Working closely with premier faculty and officers/trustees of foundations, Catherine will play an instrumental role in expanding philanthropic revenue for the hospital. Catherine comes to CHT from Cambridge College where she held the position of Foundation and Corporate Relations Officer. Prior to this appointment, she spent six years at Boston University where she served as Senior Development Researcher, Foundation Relations. Catherine holds a Masters of Arts from The Sorbonne University in Paris and brings significant international experience to this position.
Lesley University
Lesley University has recruited Colm Renehan as its new Vice President for Advancement.
As Vice President for Advancement, Colm Renehan will play an important role in supporting the Art Institute of Boston's relocation to the Cambridge campus, and planning for the celebration of Lesley University's Centennial during the 2009/2010 academic year.
Colm, a graduate of Lesley's School of Management, has had twenty years of successful development and management experience. Colm most recently served as Regional Director of the New York Metro area for MIT's Office of Leadership Giving. Colm holds a PhD. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.
Museum of Science
Joan Stephens Hadly will join the Museum of Science as Senior Vice President for Advancement in January 2008. Joan will lead and manage all aspects of advancement, working closely with the Museum's President, Trustees, and senior management in pursuit of a bold plan to be the science and technology center of the 21 st century.
Joan is charged with expanding and deepening the Museum's philanthropic relationships; reinvigorating a growing, complex advancement division; and continuing the transformation of the culture of philanthropy, to meet the museum's goals and strategic priorities.
Joan brings significant achievements to this position including, as Chief Development Officer, the completion of a comprehensive $200 million capital campaign for Brigham and Women's Hospital. Most recently, as Campaign Director of Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, she was responsible for planning and implementation of the quiet phase of a $100 million campaign for the quiet phase of a $100 million campaign.
Northeastern University
Patricia Flint joined Northeastern as the Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences where she works with Dean James Stellar to attract significant individual and corporate support for the College. Patricia received a Masters of Education from Boston University and brings to Northeastern extensive experience, including 10 years at the Harvard Faculty of Medicine. "
The School of Professional and Continuing Studies (SPCS) and Bouvé College of Health Sciences each welcomed Michael Accardi and Isabel Cunha-Vasconcelos , respectively, as new Corporation and Foundations Officers . Michael and Isabel are both responsible for building relationships on behalf of their respective schools with many local and national foundations and corporations, and soliciting their support in conjunction with specific university priorities identified by the President . Michael received a Masters of Public Policy from the University of Denver and comes to Northeastern from Federated Dorchester Neighborhood House where he was Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Isabel received a Bachelors of Science from Lesley University and comes to Northeastern from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she was a Development Officer.
Northeastern's central office recruited Irene McLaughlin as a Development Officer where she works closely with the Department of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Irene is responsible for growing a successful major gift program and raising significant funds for scholarship initiatives and other student life issues. Irene received a Masters of Art in Literature in English from Northeastern and previously served as an English Instructor and tutor at the university. Irene comes to Northeastern from the Alzheimer's Association in Watertown where she was a Development Officer, Major Gifts.

Sheila Emery Murphy has joined NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) is among the most successful of merged hospitals in the country and one of the top university hospitals in the world. It is currently ranked 6th by U.S. News & World Report in its annual survey of leading hospitals.
As NYP plans a major expansion of their highly successful campaign, this new position will focus on growing corporate giving and fostering partnerships with institutional leaders. A seasoned development professional, Sheila brings a passion for philanthropy and fluency in both individual and foundation major gifts to her new position. Prior to joining NYP, Sheila served as Senior Manager for Major Gifts at Sesame Workshop. Sheila has also served as a Major Gifts Officer at The Smile Train.

The YMCA of Greater Boston welcomes Harold Sparrow as its new Senior Vice President, Development.
As Senior Vice President, Development, Harold Sparrow will be responsible for supervising a growing development department and collaborating with the YMCA's President and Board of Directors to manage their $34 million dollar capital campaign, which features constructing state-of-the-art facilities to be built on the Rose Kennedy Greenway, in Hyde Park, West Roxbury, and in downtown Boston .
Most recently, Harold served as Executive Director of The Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston. Prior to that position, he was the Vice President/Executive Director at the Roxbury Family YMCA in Boston. Harold also serves as Vice President of the Board of Trustees at the Boston Children's Museum.
