In addition, DG/DDI is supporting the LLC Equity Access Fund to defray participation expenses for members of the LLC to attend the national gathering. Development Guild/DDI's President, William Weber, presents Debunking Leadership Fallacies at United Way of New York's Multi-State Conference 2004 on May 6th in Albany, NY. 4/1/2004 Debunking Leadership FallaciesFor United Way leadership to make far more of an impact on their communities in the future, they must first question today's assumptions of that leadership. Dr. Weber will tackle assumptions as diverse as strategic planning; intergenerational transfer of wealth; 20/80 formula for major giving; and common myths in resource development and board leadership. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation engage Development Guild/DDI to conduct an 18-month evaluation of six international leadership programs 1/12/2004 Development Guild/DDI is leading an evaluation of six international Population Leadership Development Programs funded by The David and Lucile Packard Foundation (Packard Foundation) and by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (Gates Foundation). This formative evaluation will assess the design and implementation of these six programs, and identify outcomes that are occurring in four focus countries -- Ethiopia, India, Mexico, and Nigeria. The ultimate goal of the evaluation is to provide information that will strengthen the impact of population leadership development programs, and assist The Gates and Packard Foundations to achieve their long-term strategic objective to improve the quality of, and access to, reproductive health care. The evaluation will be completed in December 2004.
