About T1D Exchange

T1D Exchange is an innovative nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating therapies and improving care for people with type 1 diabetes. T1D Exchange actively supports discovery and innovation – particularly at its earliest stages. At the same time, the organization asserts that evidence gathered in the “real world” is necessary to help bridge the gap between discovery on research settings and impact in people’s lives.

In 2009, T1D Exchange began as a nonprofit to accelerate therapies and improve care for people living with type 1 diabetes. While that mission emerged from the heartfelt desire to support a community in need, the aspiration also rested on a firm foundation of research and innovation.

From that foundation, T1D Exchange is now building the most robust type 1 diabetes data platform in the United States and using it to drive research that is meaningful to patients and focus innovation on prevention, cure, and care. With partners, T1D works to increase patient access to care, resources, and discoveries; promote education; and advocate for policy that helps the community.

About Advancement at T1D Exchange

T1D Exchange is developing a successful and sophisticated partnerships and philanthropy program that is building upon its current strong foundation support, links to diabetes related industry partners, membership model and other partnerships across the diabetes community. We have community of 24,000 patients and caregivers with a type 1 diabetes connection from which our nascent individual giving program has begun to build momentum in identifying individual donors. This program kicked off in 2018 and has great potential for expansion both from a direct appeal and major gift perspective.
