The American University of Beirut (AUB) is a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning, dedicated to providing academic excellence and service to the people of the Middle East and beyond. As the new Director of Communications based in New York, Alison Freeland will be charged with modernizing AUB’s entire range of communications output globally, including developing new platforms, formats and approaches in traditional media as well as on- and off-site digital media. Additionally, she will oversee of the North American communications strategy and team.
Alison brings nearly two decades of communications leadership experience to AUB, most recently serving for 14 years as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Greens Farms Academy, a PreK-12 independent preparatory school in Westport, CT. There she launched and drove the professionalization and ongoing evolution of the school’s communication’s program during a period of transformative growth, including helping to support numerous capital campaigns. Alison is passionate about public radio, and for the past 15 years has been a freelance producer at both the national and local levels.
