The Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation, Inc. (the “Institute”) is pleased to welcome Benjamin Jones as Director of Institutional Relations.
Ben joins The Clayton Christensen Institute with over thirty years of professional experience across the nonprofit and private sectors. Ben has spent the last eight years at UMass Dartmouth, initially serving as Advancement Officer, Corporate and Foundation Relations, where he reinvigorated the institutional giving program. Since 2020, Ben has served as the Director of Corporate Engagement & Institutional Partnerships. In this role, Ben established a new office of Institutional Partnerships to coordinate internal and external stakeholder engagement around program and research grants and founded a Business Engagement Center to streamline industry collaborations. Ben also led efforts to secure several grants in entirely new categories for the university, often providing ongoing oversight and management of the proposed programs themselves.
In his new role as Director of Institutional Relations, Ben will work to build a formal institutional philanthropy program, growing upon an impressive base of existing funding, with a focus on identifying and developing relationships that enhance engagement with and support of the Institute’s mission. Reporting to the President of the Institute, Ann Christensen, Ben will also collaborate with members of the senior leadership team and researchers.
