Democracy House is pleased to welcome Dana Green as its new National Director of Advancement. Democracy House is a 21st century meetinghouse: a campus home dedicated to strengthening the foundations of democracy for future generations. A flagship project of the Foundation for Civic Leadership Democracy House works toward a world in which all people are welcomed into their own powerful public life, equipped to work for a future that is more democratic, just, and free.
Dana joins Democracy House from Hearth in Boston, MA where she served as the Chief Advancement Officer. At Hearth, Inc., Dana managed the department to develop and oversee major gifts, annual campaigns, corporate and foundation grants, events, and volunteers. Additionally, Dana oversaw the development and production of organizational communications, and provided senior leadership as a part of Hearth, Inc.’s capital campaign.
Prior to her time at Hearth, Dana worked at Mystic Seaport Museum as their Advancement Events and Special Initiatives Manager, where she was responsible for Sail the Morgan 2014 campaign, one-on-one solicitation for annual fund and corporate events. She also served as Vice Chair for the USS Thomas Hudner Commissioning Committee in 2018 when the ship was commissioned in Boston.
In her new role as National Director of Advancement, Dana will partner with senior leadership to lead the fundraising efforts for the organization and develop new national sites, a national advisory board, and a national office. Further, Dana will further lead the fundraising strategic planning for the organization. Dana is excited to bring her passion for civic engagement to Democracy House.
