The Huntington Theatre Company is pleased to welcome Jessica Morrison as its new Director of Development (DOD).
Jessica joins the team at an exciting time in Huntington’s history, with visionary plans for theatre renovation and program expansion underway. As Director of Development, Jessica will work closely with Elisabeth Saxe, who joined the Huntington last year as Chief Development Officer, the Board and senior management to increase philanthropic support, and will oversee core annual fundraising activities and the development staff.
The Huntington Theatre Company is Boston’s leading professional theatre company and one of the region’s most well-regarded cultural assets. The Huntington supports the local arts community through its operation of the Huntington Avenue Theatre located on Boston’s famed Avenue of the Arts and the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. The theatre’s core values inspire creativity and attract the world’s most prestigious and talented artists, and audiences, to its productions. The theatre’s educational programs serve more than 33,000 students, teachers, and community organizations each year with student matinees, statewide Poetry Out Loud and the August Wilson Monologue Competition, and in-school teaching artists.
Jessica comes to Huntington from the American Repertory Theater where she served as Deputy Director of Development for five years, helping to oversee the development department and working closely with the Board and other top donors. Jessica received a BFA in Independent Theatre Studies at Boston University, during which time she interned with the Huntington in its education department. Her previous positions include Development Manager and Company Manager at the Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, and Stage Manager and Company Manager at Stuart Street Playhouse.
