St. Anthony Shrine (the Shrine) is pleased to announce the appointment of John Byrne as its new Director of Operations.

As Director of Operations, John will serve as a key member of the senior team, responsible for the effective and mission-aligned management of the Shrine’s physical infrastructure, operational services, and organization-wide communications. John will oversee facilities, security, housekeeping, and building maintenance, with a focus on maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment for all who enter the Shrine.

John joins the Shrine from Harvard University, where he served as Manager of Administrative Operations. At Harvard, John oversaw daily operations across Harvard Yard and undergraduate residences, managing key logistical, staffing, and budgetary functions. He also played a central role in coordinating student housing processes, supporting major university initiatives, and ensuring the smooth operation of campus facilities. John was elevated to his position after originally joining Harvard as Manager of Housing and Ancillary Services. Prior to his time at Harvard, John served as Associate Director of Residence Life & Housing, and Coordinator of Operations and Data Management for Student Affairs at Emmanuel College.
