Most recently, Katie served as Emerging Co-Head of School and Montessori Teacher Leader at Dandelion Montessori School, where she supported teachers through classroom observation, collaborative reflection, and curriculum planning while contributing to hiring, staffing, EEC compliance, and day-to-day operations. Previously, she held teaching and family engagement roles at Cambridge Montessori School, Mariposa Montessori School, and Kingsley Montessori School, including as an Assistant Administrator and Elementary After-School Lead. Earlier in her career, she developed arts education programs at the Newark Museum. An artist and educator by training, Katie brings a strong appreciation for thoughtful environments, creative expression, and the many ways children communicate their ideas.
In her new role, Katie will partner with Executive Director Barbara Carlson and ITC’s leadership team to support the Center’s educational program, teaching community, and daily operations. She will help advance ITC’s emergent, play-based, nature-rich, and Reggio Emilia-inspired approach, working alongside educators to strengthen classroom quality, support professional growth, and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. She will also support family relationships, help coordinate staffing, and ensure that daily practices reflect with ITC’s values and policies.
Katie looks forward to joining ITC’s close-knit early childhood community and supporting an environment where children are recognized as capable and curious learners, educators are valued as professionals, and families feel a strong sense of connection and belonging. Her first day will be September 22.
Founded in 1981, Infant Toddler Children’s Center is a nonprofit early education center in Acton, Massachusetts, serving approximately 100 children each year from infancy through preschool. Supported by nearly 30 educators on a 3.5-acre campus, ITC is grounded in the belief that learning begins at the very start of life.
