Mariam will be responsible for short-range and long-range strategies for raising increased philanthropic support for Muslim Advocates’ programs and fundraising priorities, with a particular focus on individual and corporate donors. Reporting to Renee Bullion, Director of Development, Mariam will develop, manage, and solicit a robust portfolio of donors and prospects and will work closely with the senior leadership team to support donor-centric efforts and goals.
Mariam brings a deep commitment to interfaith, international, and domestic social justice missions, and demonstrated record of professional and volunteer experience with the Muslim community and civil liberties organizations such as El-Hibri Foundation, Zakat Foundation of America, and the US Campaign for Burma.
Beginning her career in the financial services industry, Mariam has 10+ years of professional work experience. She transitioned to the nonprofit field 4 years ago and has taken on progressive responsibility in positions focused on donor relations and frontline fundraising. Most recently in the role of Campaign and Donor Relations Manager for American Physical Society, Mariam focused on soliciting and securing gifts from individual donors and managing multi-year endowment campaigns for various APS departments. Muslim Advocates looks forward to welcoming Mariam to the team beginning April 2021.
