Patty Roggeveen joins Sophia Snow Place as President and Chief Executive Officer

August 2019

Sophia Snow Place in West Roxbury, Massachusetts welcomes Patty Roggeveen as its new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Patty brings 18+ years of experience in strategic management, fundraising, program development, and marketing, with many years of volunteer management and experience in her community.

Patty came to Sophia Snow Place from her own practice, Patty Roggeveen, LLC, as a Management Consultant in Communications, Strategic Planning, and Business development for the last five years. Previously, she served as Director of Development for the Maria Mitchell Association, as Executive Director of Nantucket Dreamland Foundation, and as Executive Director of Nantucket Community School, all located in Nantucket, MA.

Patty’s public service experience includes membership on the Nantucket Board of Selectmen for five years (with roles as Chair, Vice Chair, and Chair of the County Commissioners and Chair of the Audit Committee), as well as serving as Chair of the Board of Health in Nantucket for four years.  As Audit Chair, she remedied past delays to ensure compliance and currency.

As President and CEO of Sophia Snow Place, Patty will partner with the Boards of Directors of Roxbury Home for Aged Women (RHAW) and its subsidiaries, Sophia Snow House, Inc., and Sophia Snow  Independent Living, Inc. to plan for and guide programming, fundraising and strategic growth. Working directly with the management company, Rogerson Communities, the Executive Director and staff of Sophia Snow, on behalf of the Board, Patty will be responsible for strategic planning and leadership, fundraising, external relations and community engagement, and financial management and will oversee management and operation of all Sophia  Snow’s contracts.

For more than 150 years, RHAW/Sophia Snow Place has provided women and men with an affordable, comfortable senior living community, committed to the dignity, value, and potential of each resident. Its guiding principles include providing housing and service options, meeting the needs of moderate-income seniors, community engagement and advocacy, and continuing program innovation coupled with prudent financial and investment management. Today, Sophia Snow Place features two interrelated programs/facilities: Sophia Snow House and The Residences at Snow Place.
