The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) is pleased to welcome Brian Schubmehl as its new Senior Director, Principal Gifts. Reporting to Jennifer Norris, Chief Development Officer, Brian will play a key role in AMC’s principal gift strategy while leading the principal, major, and planned giving team. His arrival comes at a pivotal moment as AMC prepares to launch a historic comprehensive campaign in celebration of its 150th anniversary.
Brian brings over 15 years of fundraising experience, most recently serving as Senior Director, Advancement at Salem State University. In this role, he was a senior member of the advancement team, working across the university to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts. He also built and led the major and planned giving team, established new major gift goals and metrics, and played an instrumental role in Salem State’s $75 million campaign.
Prior to Salem State, Brian held fundraising positions at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
An avid fly fisherman and outdoorsman, Brian is excited to bring his passion for preserving and protecting the outdoors to AMC.
Please join us in welcoming Brian to the AMC community!
