The Writing Revolution is pleased to welcome Joie Johnson-Walker as its new Director of Development.
The Writing Revolution is a national nonprofit organization which brings proven strategies to underserved schools that enable students to improve their writing skills, become better readers, speak more coherently, and elevate their critical thinking. The Writing Revolution trains teachers and school leaders in the Hochman Method, an evidence-based model for teaching writing primarily through courses and partnerships with schools and districts. The Writing Revolution envisions a day when all students acquire well-developed writing skills and the ability to think critically so that they have the opportunity to succeed.
Joie joins The Writing Revolution from All Stars Project of New Jersey where she served as Senior Development Manager. At All Stars Project, Joie managed the organizations’ grant portfolio to strengthen community relations and meet annual goals. Additionally, she managed a portfolio of individual supporters, and developed and stewarded philanthropic, corporate, and community partner relationships. Prior to her time at All Stars Project, Joie served as Manager, Individual Giving at Student Leadership Network.
Joie is excited to bring her passion for serving underserved school communities to The Writing Revolution.
