Founded in 2009 and accredited in February 2014, the University of the People now has over 18,500 students enrolled from more than 200 countries and territories. All of the professors are volunteers, and the University’s leadership hails from some of the world’s foremost institutions such as Barnard College, Columbia University, UC Berkeley, and Vassar College. Furthermore 92% of University of the People’s graduates are employed, including at such companies as Amazon, Apple, Dell, Deloitte, IBM, Microsoft, and JP Morgan, as well as institutions such as the UN and the World Bank.
