Meredith Garofalo

Senior Innovation Advisor

Meredith Garofalo is an award-winning Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) and Space/Science Correspondent, and an entrepreneur. Meredith freelances as a writer and digital content creator for online space/science publications and is an on-air meteorologist, based in Columbus, OH.

Meredith is the President of Rocket Girl Enterprise, LLC, and does contract work as an independent contractor, specializing as a moderator/host, emcee, speaker, writer, and digital content creator. Some of her clients include: Space.com, Martha Stewart Magazine, DepartmentC (supporting digital content for NASA science missions), Tomorrow.io, Kratos Defense, NOAA, Tropical Weather Analytics, World Space Week, and Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI).

Meredith most recently was a Freelance Meteorologist for Spectrum NY1 in New York City & CBS in Cleveland, OH, and currently is the prime time weekday morning meteorologist and journalist at 10TV in Columbus. Meredith’s 17 year career includes a wide variety of experience across the US stemming from her internship at WGN-TV in Chicago; she’s worked at local television stations in New York, Ohio, South Dakota, Florida, and California and nationally with WeatherNation.

Her personal and professional work has also been recognized over the last decade. This includes the inaugural Valparaiso University Alumni Association First Decade Achievement Award, two special reports in News 12’s Climate Special “Saving Our Shores” that won a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award, multiple Fair Media Council Folio & Press Club of Long Island awards for meteorology & reporting, and a Long Island Business News & NYC TV Week “40 Under 40” Award.

Meredith frequents as a panel moderator at the Space Symposium & Satellite Conference, and has been a judge for the Space Foundation’s Space Technology Hall of Fame. Meredith spends countless hours doing school, career, & motivational talks and podcasts to help encourage women pursuing STEM careers and inspire our future generations. She moderates panels, serves as emcee for events, & conducts interviews to further storytelling on space & science topics.

Meredith is an accomplished singer & actor, most recognized performing the National Anthem for the Denver Broncos, Cleveland Guardians, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Brooklyn Cyclones. She was invited as a guest performer for the New York Islanders leading the crowd in “New York, New York”.
